It’s a sad day in music as we just got word that Daniel DiGicomo of country music band River Town Saints passed away last night! The group announced it on their social media pages!

Heaven gained the world’s funniest bass player today. As some of you may have already heard, Dan passed away last night unexpectedly. We’re all in shock, and trying to figure out the next steps as we go. Many of you have reached out with kind words and prayers and we can’t tell you how much this means to his family, and us – his band family. Anyone who had ever met Dan for more than 2 seconds knew that he was the funniest, wittiest and most genuine dude on earth. A heart of gold, wicked sense of humour, and killer hip-hop cred. To say we will miss him is beyond an understatement. Obviously we ask for privacy for Dan’s family at this time. Over the coming hours and days, we’ll provide updates here regarding a GoFundMe campaign that we’ll be setting up to help his family with funeral costs. We’ll see you again brother – until then, keep holding down the low end up there. Love RTS.

Dan played bass for the band and often would sing back up vocals!

In the post, the group mentions:

They are not wrong! I have been blessed many times to chat with the River Town Saints and every time I do, Dan always had the funniest one liners and the group was always in stitches laughing!

In fact, Kitchener had the River Town Saints and The Road Hammers for Oktoberfest! I was chatting with Dan for a solid 10 minutes before he went on stage and we both shared a good laugh!

He will be missed, by his band-mates, his family, and the Country Music community!
