Thomas Rhett & wife Lauren have their hands full these days with two adorable baby girls!

First came little Willa Gray, who the couple adopted from Uganda. Then on August 12th they welcomed little Ada James into the world. The power couple has been very open posting adorable pictures/stories on social media. Which BTW we’re NOT mad about.

But the question that remained (until now) is, what was the inspiration behind the name choices?

Willa Gray – Was named after Thomas’ grandfather Willard and Laurens brother Grayson

Ada James – Ada came from a dream Lauren had where she repeatly kept hearing the name Ada, and James came from Thomas’ uncle

Willa came from my mom’s dad, his name is Willard, which translated means innately brave. And so we felt like Willa was a beautiful girl name and also I think we thought it represented kind of her story, like you have to be strong to survive what she went through.  – Thomas Rhett

Ada James, James comes from my uncle, my dad’s brother his name is James Elias,” Rhett reveals. “So James is her middle name and Ada, Lauren said that she had a dream and she kept hearing the name Ada in the dream. And that is why we went with Ada. Pretty random but really cool.” – Thomas Rhett
